Late Collection Procedure

We reserve the right to charge for late collection of children at a rate of £2 per 5 minutes.

1. If a parent or carer is late collecting a child inform the Manager or Deputy Manager.

2. Reassure the child concerned, keep them occupied.

3. The Manager or Deputy Manager plus one other member of staff will wait on the premises until the child is collected.

4. If the parent/carer is more than 10 minutes late, the senior member of staff will telephone the supplied contact numbers in order to establish how the child will be collected.

5. In the event of no contact being made by 7.00pm, the person in charge will ring Child Services and advise them of the situation.

6. The two members of staff will remain in the building until suitable arrangements have been made for the collection of a child.

7. Whilst awaiting collection the child’s needs will be attended to, this may include providing food and drink.

8. Staff are to record all late collection incidents in the incident book, The incident book is signed off by both staff and parents.

9. Any penalty charges incurred for late collection will be invoiced.

Parents and carers who know they are going to be late collecting their child must inform the nursery with an approximate time of arrival. This reduced concern and upset for the child.

Current personal information sheets will be issued with invoices in January and July with a request for parents to update as necessary.

It is the parent or carer’s responsibility to ensure we have up-to-date contact information at all times.
