The Ashfield Plaza Day Nursery is a purpose built nursery based in the Ashfield Skills Centre at Ashfield School it is situated among units including the Primary Care Trust and Charnwood’s Hospitality and Catering Unit.

Working in partnership with Ashfield School, our qualified staff offer your child high quality care.

We are committed to employing child care staff who are competent, enthusiastic and reflective practitioners with a breadth of knowledge skills and understanding.  A number of school pupils and students will also train in the nursery. This will be over and above staffing requirements, and allows us to offer one to one support for your child.  As a teaching nursery we will always be at the forefront of the best thinking on childcare and education. 

The Nursery is spacious with lots of natural light. We have 4 main rooms, and the 60 place nursery is based in 3 of these.  The fourth room is a large (62 square metre) multi purpose room, which enables us to provide extra curricular activities and an indoor physical play area. It will also be used to support our Breakfast and After School Club provision for 5 to 8 year olds.

Our ethos is to provide care which has an emphasis on learn through play as we believe that learning should be fun and non pressured.

We know you want the best start in life for your child and, with this in mind, all our menu planning is based on good nutrition and the 5 a day principle (portions of fruit and veg). Your child will be offered breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea; all meals will include fresh fruit and vegetables. If your child has special dietary requirements these will always be accommodated. Your child will have access to drinking water at all times.

Our main priority is to settle your child into nursery with as little distress as possible. From then on we will work with you to provide a non judgemental learning environment that allows your child to develop into a resilient, capable, confident and self-assured individual.
