Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
We understand that you will be anxious about leaving your child for
the first time in any nursery and want to reassure you that we will
do our very best to care for and treat your child as an individual.
We hope that our website has provided you with
sufficient information, but perhaps a selection of questions we are
frequently asked, together with our responses might help:
Yes we do. Your child receives this funding the term after their 3rd
birthday. Your role is to inform the nursery whether your child will
be using their sessions at our nursery as soon as possible to ensure
a place. We will then request the appropriate forms to ensure the
funding is received and the place is saved.
Yes
please! All we ask is that you give us notice about holidays as
soon as possible to help with our staffing. If you take holidays out
of term time and you give us at least a month’s notice, you are
entitled to a 25% discount. Any holidays you take during term time
will be charged at full price.
Yes we do offer term time places. You just need to inform
management of this before your child starts.
Yes we do but only for children up to 8 years old. They are based
in our pre-school room with children from 3-5 years. There are a
variety of activities available for them to take part in or they are
able to sit quietly and do their homework. Breakfast and tea is
available in with the price. We can also offer a pick up and drop
off service to both Greenwood and Orchard Schools: please check
availability with our Managers.
We are confident that we have a well run, friendly nursery and so
have an open door policy. You do not need to make an appointment to
look around and a member of the management team will always be
available to show you around. However you are more than welcome to
make an appointment if you feel happier doing so.
We will help to toilet train your child whenever you feel ready to
do this. Children vary enormously and we aim to make this as trouble
free as we can. Some children will start to tell you when they have
done something in their nappy. This is a good start as they are
beginning to communicate what they are doing. If your child seems
ready, we start by letting them go on the potty or toilet at every
nappy change and this helps the children familiarise themselves.
Seeing other children using the potty and toilet usually works to
encourage others to try. We also ask that when your child is toilet
training that you bring in spare underwear, clothes and shoes. We
will inform you daily of your child’s progress and hope that you
will do the same when they are at home. Above all, this should be a
stress free part of your child’s development and we will listen and
support you and your child in every way we can.
We want your child to feel “special” on their birthday so our
nursery cook will make a birthday cake on the day or as near to
their birthday as they attend. The children will sing happy birthday
at a meal time and your child will be able to blow out the candles
and eat the cake with their friends. If you would like to bring in
sweets or chocolates for your child’s friends you are more than
welcome and we will hand these out at the end of the day.
PLEASE ask any of our staff if you have any other
questions not covered here or elsewhere. |
