Aims of the Nursery

  • To offer care on an individual and flexible basis meeting the needs of each child and their parents/carers.

  • To maintain an open and honest relationship with parents/carers.

  • To welcome all children and their families, recognising and celebrating difference and opposing discrimination and prejudice.

  • To ensure all are confident that their child will receive a quality experience which supports the child’s development and learning. 

  • To provide a non judgemental environment which will treat every child as an individual enabling them to grow and learn.

  • To recognise and positively celebrate all children’s achievements.

  • To ensure that all the children are treated as individuals and that diverse methods of learning through play are provided.

  • To recruit staff who place the children’s health, safety and well being at the centre of everything they do.

  • To fulfil the staffing ratios laid down by Ofsted with fully competent and qualified staff.

  • To ensure that all our staff are committed enthusiastic and reflective practitioners with a breadth of knowledge and skills that provide children with a quality learning experience.

  • To provide a high quality training environment for students who will be additional to the staffing ratio laid down by Ofsted, enhancing the children’s experience in the nursery.

Objectives of the Nursery

We will provide a caring sympathetic and stimulating environment which enables children to:

  • Develop as individuals socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically

  • Recognise that learning is exciting, absorbing and rewarding.

  • Form stable relationships with other children.

  • Learn how to share and co-operate.

  • Explore, experiment, observe and discover.

  • Develop language and communication skills.

  • Learn and develop through imaginative and make believe play.

  • Develop skills which will be of use throughout life.

  • Prepare for mainstream school.
